Intensive English courses by the American Chamber of Commerce. If you register in the Workplace English Campaign, you will get a 50 per cent refund off the original course fee of $3,050. Some courses available are the Intermediate Business Communication and Advanced Corporate Communication. There will be a total of 30 hours of training by a professional senior English instructor. The curriculum will be tailor-made with course materials.

JANUARY 20

Andersen 'Meltdown', breakfast briefing organised by the British Chamber of Commerce. During the Enron crisis, Andersen, a US$9 billion firm with then  85,000 employees in 84 countries, experienced the breaking up of its global network and disappearance of the Andersen name within the space of six months. The chamber has invited Anne Groves, former  global head of corporate communications at Andersen, to talk about the Andersen experience.  Time: 8am-9.30am
