Still on the subject of food, a frequent mainland visitor reports finding a roast meat restaurant in a certain hotel in Foshan, near Guangzhou. This place is apparently a particular favourite with Hong Kong visitors, offering a range of services downstairs and 'warming meals' upstairs. The winter menu special? Its little feet point skywards; it's young, plump and tender - no more than eight weeks old. It couldn't be anything else. Roast suckling ... puppy. Bon appetit.
