Two young winners of a drawing contest indulge themselves in the beautiful
THE winner of the ''Germany Through Young Eyes'' drawing contest, Sally Hui Long-wai, did not waste a minute of her time on her way to Germany - she drew seven pictures during the long flight.
''I drew pictures for the flight attendants and the father of the other winner,'' Sally said.
''I also chatted with the German lady sitting next to me; I used my drawings to communicate with her.'' Eleven-year-old Sally, together with her mother, and the winner of the junior section, Stephanie Kwan Pui-man, and her family, enjoyed a one-week holiday in the southern and northwestern parts of Germany after winning the competition early this year.
They travelled to Munich, Garmisch, Heidelberg and the Rhine River. Sally was most impressed with the exhibits at the Deutsche Museum and the snow-covered Zugspitze, the highest mountain in Germany.
''At the museum, things I have seen on books before, like planes and wax works, came alive,'' the first-former said.
Sally also loved the the railway through the Zugspitze and the snow.
She pictured Germany as a prosperous country with vast plains before the trip. Once she arrived, reality was not too far from her imagination.
