SCHRODERS Asia director Richard Haw has been elected chairman of the Hong Kong Investment Fund Association.
The head of investment at Schroders was also the 1990-91 chairman.
Andrew Lo of Capitol House Investment Management (Asia) is vice-chairman for the second year running.
Mr Haw said he was confident unit trusts and mutual funds would continue to gain popularity among local investors.
He said: ''The monthly gross sales figure averages US$220 million, which represents a 57 per cent increase over that of 1992.
''The net sales figure of the first six months exceeded any half-yearly figures in the past four years.'' In the coming year the association would be working on the implementation of the new occupational retirement legislation due in October, along with furthering relations with mainland fund management organisations, he said.
