Who can resist the urge to drift away to the dance floor when Underworld's synthesiser-driven techno-anthem Born Slippy starts spinning? Does it bring to mind scenes of gloomy Scotland from Trainspotting, the cult film which featured the hit on its soundtrack?

Underworld 1992-2002 is a collection of singles from what remains one of the most influential British dance acts.

Long-time Underworld fans will treasure disc 1, which features rare tracks such as Bigmouth, Dirty, Spikee, 8 Ball and even Rez, which has never been released on CD format before. These early tunes are solid proof that dance tracks do not necessarily have to be technology driven and can become classics.

Die-hard fans may complain disc 2 contains too many tracks from recent albums that they already own. But there are also some fine remixes from top DJs that make this album worth owning. Beneath the cold, punchy electronic beats, there is the warmth that keeps fans on the dance floor.
