Supporters of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund can now be identified by their matching undies.
The fetching red lace thongs were part of the goodie bag handed out at the fund's annual ball, which was held, for the first time, on Valentine's Day
The event was billed as a night of desire, and getting everyone into an amorous mood was Tom Griffiths, renowned opera singer from the cast of Phantom of the Opera, and a very revealing lingerie show by Marguerite Lee.
Among the 350 couples (plus the odd singleton) at the Grand Hyatt: David Tang Wing-cheung and his new wife, Lucy, and Audrey Ai and her new husband, Tom Morrow.
The fund-raising target was $3 million, with the final figure still being tallied. 'There is no doubt that everyone has been very generous this year,' said Sally Lo, chairwoman of the Hong Kong Cancer Fund (far right, with Peggy Liu). Jokingly calling herself the 'Grande Dame of Desire', she set about encouraging everyone to be as amorous as possible, especially the singles.
