Abducted supporter forced to drink brake fluid
A supporter of Fernando Poe Jnr was abducted and forced to eat his candidate's campaign poster and drink brake fluid.
Richard Rivera was also robbed of 20,000 pesos (HK$2,770) that he was forced to withdraw from an ATM.
Poe's camp condemned the incident as political harassment.
Rod Reyes, media bureau chief of Poe's United Filipino Movement, said it was unlikely the attackers were simply seeking money.
'His cell phone was not taken, nor his watch,' he noted. 'We think this may have something to do with politics because why would they make him eat the poster and force him to drink brake fluid?'
The attack has left the victim unable to speak due to throat injuries. Mr Rivera was abducted in Manila late on Wednesday, and taken 136km southeast to Lucena city.
