Salesian English School and Lui Yun Choi Memorial College (LYC) were proud winners in the Division Three Area Four athletics final on Monday at Wan Chai Sports Ground.
Eastern Hong Kong island school Salesian won the boys' Grade B and placed second in Grade A - collecting enough points to win the overall crown and promotion to Division Two.
Salesian coach Cheung Shu-kin said: 'We won a lot of points in sprint events and we won the 4x400 relay, which is worth a lot. The boys have been training hard after school. They've even been running up mountains near Tseung Kwan O.
'It is the first time we have won a Division Three title, although we were in Division One about six years ago.
'They are mostly Form Seven boys - so some of them won't compete in Division Two next year, but we will be well-prepared even without them.'
Team captain Alec Ng Shun-nam was a top points earner. He placed third in the Grade A 100 metres and fourth in 200m, and was second with the 4x100m relay team. Another star was Felix Wong Hok-king, who was second in the 400m, third in the 200m and anchored the 4x400m relay team to victory.
