Not your average Canto-pop album
Me? ... We! is a showcase of indie music produced by Hong Kong-based musicians such as Calvin Poon Yuen-leung, MC Yan, Eugene Pao and Ghost Style - aka Brandon Ho.
The album, although not as groundbreaking as hoped for, is refreshing given that there are few opportunities for local musicians to express their diverse talents.
The best tracks of the bunch are Si Pres, Si Loin De Moi and Shimmy On Me, in which drumming legend Jun Kung and rapper Brandon Ho sing in French and English, respectively.
Also joining the multicultural line-up is Shanghai-born Paisley Hu with the Putonghua song Shanghai Babe.
Those who bicker over the definition of patriotism should listen to Of Mixed Blood performed by Beyond guitarist Paul Wong Koon-chung, about the identity crisis in Hong Kong after years of Western rule.
Also look out for Heat of July, which describes the July 1 protest march as a passionate love affair, and is another example of Calvin Poon's first-class writing.
