Olympus weatherproofs old lenses
Product: Olympus Ultra Zoom C-760 and Mju 410 Digital Price: $3,680 and $3,280 Pros: Quality images Cons: xD picture card is expensive. Hard to imagine many people paying this price for a 3.2-megapixeel
Camera maker Olympus has just released two new digital cameras aimed at sports and outdoor enthusiasts.
The Olympus C-760 Ultra Zoom is an SLR-like fixed-lens digital camera at 3.2 megapixels with a 10x optical zoom, much like the four-megapixel C-750. Weighing just 280 grams, it is the smallest digital camera on the market.
Its super macro mode allows for extreme close-ups.
With a 512-megabyte xD-picture card, the Olympus C-760 Ultra Zoom can record motion jpeg images with sound for almost two hours. It records video at 640x480 pixels image quality of 15 frames per second.
It is an all-in-one camera solution for advanced photographers who want the widest focal length range plus manual and automatic controls. It has a zoom range equivalent to 38mm to 380mm - more than many lenses used on professional SLR cameras. Like the more expensive C-750, it has a built-in hot-shoe for an external flash.
