The redesigned Iomega mini USB 2.0 drive now features USB 2.0 connectivity for faster file transfers at about five megabits per second.
The compact flash drive is wrapped in a sleek, silver package and includes a mini-window for users to customise it with a photo or label.
Like most USB drives, the Iomega Mini USB 2.0 drive operates without cables, adaptors, power supply or drivers.
It is plug-and-play compatible with Windows Me, 2000 and XP, Linux 2.4.1 and above, Mac OS 9.0 and above.
Priced at $438 for the 128-megabyte version and $700 for the 256MB version, there are cheaper made-in-China or Taiwan USB 2.0 drives available. However, Iomega's products are perceived to be more reliable and secure, providing a warranty against failure.
When compared to other brand-name drives from Sony and SanDisk, for example, Iomega's is competitively priced.
