The remake of Infernal Affairs is under way, and US entertainment giant Warner Bros - who paid $15 million for the rights - is preparing a star studded lineup. The Post reported a few weeks ago that Martin Scorsese was close to signing a deal to direct. And we heard that Brad Pitt would be starring in the film, but which role was still under question. Other names mentioned previously were Tom Cruise, Ed Norton and Robert Downey Jr. But now the mystery seems to be clearing with speculation that Brad Pitt will play the role played by Andy Lau Tak-wah (the mole in the police department). And reports are surfacing that Leonardo DiCaprio will play the part played by Tony Leung Chiu-wai (the police mole in the triads). What're the odds on such a delicious cast? Hong Kong film powerhouse MediaAsia confirmed the reports were correct - but still not 100 per cent confirmed. 'It is not totally confirmed that these roles will be played by DiCaprio and Pitt, and that the remake will be directed by Scorsese, but it is highly likely. If it wasn't Warner Bros would have denied it by now,' said a MediaAsia spokesman in Los Angeles.
