The mother of the late pop idol Anita Mui Yim-fong has filed a lawsuit against Sudden Weekly, saying it portrayed her as being insatiably greedy and unreasonable. Mui Tam Mei-kam filed the High Court writ yesterday against the magazine and also asked for an injunction to stop further publication of the allegations and damages. It was the second libel writ filed against the magazine yesterday. Emperor Group Chairman Albert Yeung Sau-shing also filed a claim. Ms Tam claimed the magazine had cast her in a negative light, saying she and her daughter - who died last December, aged 40 - had had a 'bad relationship'. She said the article, which appeared on January 9 this year, also made allegations about her business practices. Mr Yeung's writ named Sudden Weekly Ltd, the magazine's editor-in-chief Chiu Wai-kin and Paramount Printing Company Limited as the defendants.
