Milan Station maybe a godsend for fashionistas looking to unload last season's bags, but selling your Rolex in Hong Kong can be tricky: pawn shops will offer you peanuts. You can sell it through eBay , but might not feel secure flogging it in cyberspace.
Luckily, there is Ken's Watches.
Opened two years ago by Kenneth Or Ching-yeung, it has become a meeting and trading point for collectors. Barely 30 years old, Or has eight years' experience selling second-hand luxury watches. 'We have a group of several hundred collectors who gather to share opinions and exchange watches,' he says. 'And I'm like the centre of this group because I know watches the best.'
Ken's Watches buys and sells brands such as Rolex, Franck Muller, Patek Phillipe and Omega. Or says customers can trade in their watches for other second-hand models or cash. 'Luxury watch prices are like seafood prices. They change every day,' he says. 'Also I treat my customers as friends and share my experience with them.'
Or can also help with broken watches. 'I know whom to find to fix specific watches,'
he says. 'I also provide a warranty for all watches I sell.'
