HOLIDAY Inn Worldwide Asia has added two properties to its portfolio in China with the signing of management contracts in Zhengzhou and Wuhan. In Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza Zhengzhou is under renovation. The 200-room hotel, scheduled to be opened in the third quarter of next year, will feature an executive floor, restaurants, a disco and karaoke bar. In Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, construction is under way of the 400-room Holiday Inn Wuhan which is expected to open late next year. Facilities will include three Chinese restaurants, a coffee shop, disco and bar. David Paulon, managing director of Holiday Inn Worldwide Asia Pacific, said: ''Zhengzhou and Wuhan are strategically important to us because both are provincial capitals and as such we believe both will be fast-growing areas in the immediate future. ''Wuhan is the industrial heartland of China while Zhengzhou already boasts an international airport to accommodate the increasing flow of traffic to and from the region,'' he said.
