DIGITAL Equipment Asia will begin worldwide volume shipments of the Microsoft Windows NT operating system on its Alpha DECpc AXP150 PCs next week. DECpc AXP 150 buyers will receive Windows NT Version 3.1 pre-loaded at no cost. Customers who already have DECpc AXP will be given Windows NT and the Software Developer's Kit. More than 500 applications from DEC and other software vendors will run on the DECpc AXP 150 under Windows NT. Leading the way to the Alpha AXP platform are application vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Powersoft, Cadre, IBI and Object Design.
