Tinnie Chow

Chen Kaige has begun shooting his next epic, The Promise (Wu Ji).

The big budget fantasy will bring together some of Asia's top talent both in front of and behind the camera.

According to Screendaily.com, Hong Kong's Cecilia Cheung Pak-chi and Nicholas Tse Ting-fung (both pictured),   mainland star Liu Ye, Korean actor Jang Dong-kun,  and Japan's Hiroyuki Sanada  have been  cast.

The crew consists of Hong Kong cinematographer  Peter Pau Tak-hai and art director Tim Yip Kam-tim, both of whom worked on Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Action choreographer Dion Lam Tat-ho of Spider-Man II and The Matrix: Revolutions fame is also on the team.  They will be filming in Beijing, Shanghai and Yunnan.
