Latino singer Enrique Iglesias seems to lack fans in Asia. Well, in Malaysia anyway. It was reported to CitySeen last week that the reason for him not coming to Hong Kong and Manila was because of logistical problems.

'Organisers regret that due to the cancellation of other shows on the regional tour, and the difficulty of re-arranging freight and private aircraft movements, the Hong Kong concert of Enrique Iglesias scheduled for April 6, has been cancelled,' his people said.

But Agence France-Presse reports that in Malaysia, the real reason for the back-pedalling was poor ticket sales.

According to the New Straits Times, tickets sales were so far below expectations that local organiser LCM Group-Live Concerts called off yesterday's concert for the Bukit Jalil sports stadium outside Kuala Lumpur.

Only 2,000 tickets had been sold. One anonymous reader told CitySeen that the concert promoters were pulling the wool over the media's eyes.

'I would like to point out that the 'real' reason why the concerts have been cancelled is due to extremely poor ticket sales of his tour in Asia and Australia.'
