Statistics: Lai-fong led the Hong Kong secondary school team to victory in the School Interport Championship in Foshan last month.

After impressive performances for the Hong Kong  youth team, she was selected for the senior squad.

Last year, she moved  to the Bank of China (BOC) team from  Wellborn club, with whom she won three Division A league titles.

Soundbite: 'I've found my calling in basketball. I've improved lots of things such as my communication skills  through playing basketball, something that cannot be learnt  in school. I  get the chance to travel,  playing in different tournaments, which is really great.'

Interests: Basketball, basketball and basketball. I browse the internet and listen to music sometimes.

Academic performance: Average

From her coach: 'Lai-fong was  not aggressive enough when she first joined the team.  She was the youngest player  and lacked  confidence,' says BOC coach Lai Fung.

'After a year, she got more used to the tempo and style of our play and played really well in the past couple of games. She has great potential. If she continues to work hard, she could become  Hong Kong's No 1 centre.'

Ambition: My ambition of getting into the Hong Kong team has been achieved. So my next goal is to become a coach. I received my coaching certificate last year, but I haven't got the chance to be a coach yet.

This way, I can keep on playing basketball and pass on tips to the younger players at the same time.
