Peter Berry has chosen to ignore the real reason the English cheered Scotland's victory over France (South China Morning Post, April 6). It was very difficult for the English fans to decide who they liked least - Scotland won by a narrow margin.
As for the enthusiastic singing of God Save the Queen, this was fuelled more by alcohol than by any notion of patriotism by the mercenary English.
