Concerning Hong Kong's rebuke of the US (Sunday Morning Post, April 4), no country, under any circumstances, has a right to meddle in the affairs of another.

The US should focus on its own affairs. I will, of course, be rebuked by those who will tell me how much American 'interests' are involved in both Hong Kong and China, but if that is supposed to be the guideline, we better 'surrender'. Apparently this is also not exactly what we want, so why listen to the US in the first place? The US has no idea about development in China other than telling us what it thinks is good for us and, above all, what is good for the US.
