A 15-year-old Nepalese girl died from a suspected heroin overdose near Yuen Long yesterday morning, prompting the police to warn about drug abuse among students. The girl was found dead at a friend's house in Tai Hong Wai, Pat Heung, after a night out in Yuen Long with a friend the previous evening. The friend - who the police did not identify - told police the girl used drugs regularly but claimed they had not taken any during their night out. The girl lost consciousness at the friend's house in Pat Heung. The friend's father alerted police when the girl did not wake up yesterday morning. Police found a needle hole in her arm. The head of the Narcotics Bureau, Chief Superintendent Kenny Ip Lau-chuen, warned about rising drug problems in schools. Nearly every week, a student is arrested for possessing ketamine, with the youngest suspect so far being just 13. Cannabis was also gaining popularity, he said.
