Sunday nights are the best time of the week for young ice hockey fans in Hong Kong.
The SUNDAY Night Hockey League (SNHL) at Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong is the kind of competition most teenage sports fans dream of taking part in.
With the help and support of corporate sponsors and parents, and the organisers' commitment in recording the smallest of match details, the SNHL has become more than an average youth sports competition.
'We try to make it as exciting and as professional as the National Hockey League [NHL],' said Keith Fong, the general manager of AsiaSports, the company that organises ice hockey events in Hong Kong.
'A lot of the organisers, parents and referees have a hockey background - they still play or used to play. So we know what we would like, and we try to do it for the kids.
'The kids take it seriously. When it gets to playoff time, there are a lot of cheers and tears. It's their big show and if they lose they are disappointed. It's their NHL.'
