Snap-happy lot aim for Beijing
Snapshot-hunters will set their sights on Beijing this summer. Hundreds of lomographers - dedicated to the addictive little camera, the Lomo - are expected to explore, party and show off their pictures at the first Lomography World Congress to be held on the mainland.
The annual event aims to attract more Hong Kong lomographic enthusiasts this year owing to the geographic vicinity, says Pan Chan, the creation director of the Lomography Society Asia.
'Previous world congresses were staged in Europe and Japan, which is far away. Only five people from Hong Kong went to the congress held in Vienna last year. But I am sure there will be more Hong Kong lomographers in Beijing this year.'
She says they have already received 10 inquiries about the event.
The event between June 29 and July 4 will include a tour of the city, parties and a Lomography Wall of snapshots from around the world.
