Casing the joint

A huge Louis Vuitton trunk is illuminated at the Tamar site in Admiralty. The 70-metre-long trunk, which is actually a vast marquee with the luxury label's famous gold motifs projected on to its sides, will be the scene of a party tomorrow night celebrating the brand's 150th anniversary. The guest list for what is expected to be Hong Kong's social event of the year includes Louis Vuitton chairman Yves Carcelle and a host of local celebrities and socialites. The giant trunk was the centrepiece of celebrations which began in February in New York. It moves to Tokyo in September and Paris early next year.
