GOLF's most dramatic and popular event, the Ryder Cup, begins today, with the United States team going all-out to defend the trophy they took from Europe in a nail-biting finish on home turf - sorry, home green - at Kiawh Island in 1991.

This time the venue is The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield, England and Prime Sports will broadcast the action, starting at 7.30pm with delayed coverage of the opening morning session.

Live coverage begins at 9 pm, both today and tomorrow, and on Sunday the whole final day will be broadcast as it happens from 9pm. Anyone who thinks the game's a good walk spoilt, think again - this event is the Rugby Sevens of golf.

FOR Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (World 9.30pm, ORT unknown), read Godzilla meets Terminator, for this umpteenth return of Japan's favourite monster bares a story-line remarkably close to the Schwarzenegger films.

A UFO soars over Tokyo and scientists discover it's a time machine from the 23rd century come back to destroy Godzilla before he can fulfil his destiny of wiping out Japan 100 years hence.

The futuristic crew bring three small animals to fulfil the task, but an American nuclear bomb test nearby causes them to mutate into one gigantic three-headed killing machine, King Ghidorah.
