Asian schools earn high respect
The Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) and the China Europe International Business School were the two leading Asia-Pacific business schools, both ranking 53rd in a tie in The Financial Times top 100 full-time MBA programmes worldwide.
Only five Asia-Pacific schools made the top 100. The three others were the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), Melbourne Business School (72nd) and Brisbane Graduate School of Business at Queensland University of Technology (82nd).
HKUST came in 69th. Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Hong Kong also offer full-time MBAs.
Robert McLean, dean and director of AGSM, is upbeat about the school's performance.
'This very strong result reinforces AGSM's long-held position as Australia and Asia's leading business school. Our prestigious reputation attracts talented students from Australia and around the world - half of the new MBA class originates from overseas, representing 24 nations.
'With an average GMAT [Graduate Management Admission Test] of 655, this year's class is the best ever, with our students being in the top 13 to 15 per cent of the 245,000 students who complete the GMAT worldwide.'
