EVERY pre-school child in China will be taught environmental awareness under a Friends of the Earth proposal which will be presented to Early Education heads today. Mrs Ng of Friends of the Earth will meet about 50 Early Education bureau directors, professors and researchers in Zhuhai to discuss the feasibility of the plan, which follows a successful pilot scheme in Guangzhou. ''The environmental situation in China is quite alarming. It has been proven in Western countries that it is easier to educate children than adults,'' she said. Students will be taught basic principles concerning air, water, noise, rubbish, animals, plants and energy.
