Kit Sam Lam Bing Yim Secondary School coach Chan Fook-yue said his team would need a stellar performance from his top three players if they were to win the girls' basketball title at the 2004 Rosaryhill Sports Tournament. As it turned out, two stars were more than enough.
Tsang Yuk-sin had eight points, six assists and four steals and Lam Yin-mui added 15 points, as Kit Sam rolled over Rosaryhill School, 45-20, in the final.
'They played very well today,' Chan said. 'I'm happy with their performance.'
Kit Sam had relied on guards Yin-mui and Yuk-sin to book their place in the final, but it would not have been possible without Lam Pui-ying.
The centre played a dominant role for Kit Sam in the opening rounds, but she struggled against Rosaryhill, scoring just six points.
'She didn't play like she did the other two days,' Chan said.
None of that mattered as Yuk-sin collected three steals during a 10-2 run, which gave Kit Sam a 33-10 second-half lead. Rosaryhill never recovered.
