His next opponent is Lin Wei-chang of Taiwan. Hong Kong also reached the quarter-finals in the men's doubles. Chan Siu-kwong and Ng Pak-kum coasted to a 15-5, 15-5 victory over Canadian's B. Lee and T. Reydy. They will now play top seeds Holst Christiansen and Thomas Lund of Denmark for a berth in the last four. The territory's mixed doubles pairing of Chan Siu-kwong and Chung Hoi-yuk were beaten 16-17, 15-7, 15-7 by Danes Christiansen and Pernille Nedergaard.
