MAKSIM IN CONCERT

Young Croatian pianist Maksim will perform in Hong Kong tomorrow and on Friday at 8pm in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts' Lyric Theatre.

Complete with his orchestra and band, this marks Maksim's first Asian tour.

The 29-year-old is a classically-trained pianist. He gave his debut public performance at the age of nine. Then he spent a year at the Ferenc Liszt Conservatoire in Budapest before moving to Paris where he won the Pontoise Piano competition in 2001.

Maksim is famous for transporting traditional melodies such as Flight of the Bumblebee into the 21st century by tossing in techno-disco beats.

His live performances also make great use of visual effects such as lasers and dry ice. Tickets at $880, $680, $580 and $380 are available through HK Ticketing at 3128 8288.
