A MAN who overstayed his visa was yesterday accused in the High Court of trying to rape a 59-year-old woman while she lay ill in bed.
Leung Yuet-nang, 56, pleaded not guilty. He denied attempting to rape the woman in a New Territories village on September 22, last year.
Senior assistant Crown prosecutor Paul Madigan said Leung was a resident of China and had entered Hong Kong on a two-way permit to attend to his late father's estate.
He stayed in the same village as the woman, who knew of him but had not spoken to him.
Mr Madigan said on September 22 last year the woman went to bed ill. The door was closed but not locked.
She awoke suddenly when Leung jumped on her, pinning her down.
The court heard that Leung tore off the woman's clothes and tried to have sex with her. But his attempts failed and he left.
