Festival fare
Restaurant group Lan Kwai Fong Entertainments is holding a food festival at its outlets from tomorrow until next Sunday. Greg Malouf, who worked previously in Hong Kong (at Restaurant 97 before it changed to Post 97), is taking time away from Momo, his restaurant in Melbourne, to work at Lux (UG/F, California Tower, 30 D'Aguilar Street, tel: 2868 9538). His dishes include hazelnut falafel with tahini-whipped yoghurt and Cypriot halloumi, sauteed scampi and golden ras el hanout (a mixed spice) lentil and pumpkin soup, Moroccan pigeon pie with almonds and sweet spices, and Lebanese milk pudding with passionfruit and geranium syrup. French chef Francois Mermilliod, from Dou restaurant in Singapore, will be in charge of the kitchens at Cafe des Artistes (1/F, California Tower, tel: 2526 3880). Pastry chef Joan Ida from Goodfellow's, Minneapolis, is making the desserts for Cafe des Artistes and Baci (2/F, 1 Lan Kwai Fong, tel: 2801 5885); and Supreeda Khemkhang from the Aman Puri Resort in Phuket is cooking royal Thai cuisine at Thai Lemongrass (3/F, California Tower, tel: 2905 1688). The chefs will also be conducting cooking classes, and other Lan Kwai Fong Entertainments restaurants such as Tokio Joe, Kyoto Joe, Indochine and Bamboo will have special menus.
