I wanna be a GFS pilot

What qualifications do you need?

You must be a university graduate and have normal eyesight. You don't need any flying experience to apply for the GFS.

What sort of person does the job suit?

First and foremost you must like flying. Some people are afraid of flying or feel no sense of achievement in this activity. I have colleagues who are very outgoing or very quiet, but they all share a passion for flying. You must be happy to work as part of a team rather than as an individual because flying relies on teamwork.

What's the best way into the industry?

Before the government's freeze on recruitment you could take part in the GFS recruitment exams. But, if you are interested in flying, you can contact the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps.
