The South China Morning Post won eight of the nine prizes in the English-language section of the 2003 Hong Kong News Awards last night. The Post's photographers also picked up four prizes. Award winners included (from left) K.Y.Cheng (sports photography second runner-up), Dustin Shum (best sports photography, news photography merit), Joseph Lo (best news writing), Denise Tsang (second runner-up business writing), Ravina Shamdasani (news writing runner-up), Simon Pritchard (joint second runner-up business writing), Jane Moir (runner-up business writing), Colleen Thomson and Ian Young (joint winners best headline) and Oliver Tsang (news photography runner-up). The other prize winners were Tom Mitchell (best business writing) and the Post's backbench (runner-up and second runner-up headlines).
