Need a pair of glasses? The folks at Crossroads International have some - 60,000 pairs, actually. That was about, oh, 59,000 more pairs than the charity had expected to receive in a recent drive for spectacles to send to doctors in Kunming. But no matter, Crossroads spokeswoman Kate Falconer said the spectacles will be sent to other needy countries. The charity, which accepts donations from companies and individuals, has received some wacky items including new playground equipment, rubber duckies, a fishing line, new toilet bowls and a still-warm industrial pizza oven. But they've all been put to work, she said. Crossroad's annual Flag Day donation drive on Saturday was rained out, with only a third of the 900 volunteers showing up. Ms Falconer said the group may try to hold another one.
