Tit for tat tittle-tattle

The paparazzi can be a pain, as any celebrity - or semi-celeb - in Hong Kong will tell you. That's why some celebs around town are probably getting a chuckle out of the latest issues of Eastweek and Sing Tao Daily Magazine, which feature Next Magazine publisher Merit Yeung Wai-hong getting a taste of his own medicine.

Readers are treated to paparazzi-style surveillance photos and a muckraking article on Mr Yeung and his Mother's Day activities. The results? Less than juicy, actually.

Mr Yeung takes his mother and daughter out for a meal. Then they go shopping at a $10 store, even though, as the magazines breathlessly point out, Mr Yeung is quite wealthy. The reason for these less-than-newsworthy articles? Apparently, Next Magazine had previously published an article on a female friend of Charles Ho Tsu-kwok, who just so happens to be the owner of Eastweek and Sing Tao.
