Maxus, WPP's third media agency network, is keen to open more offices in China, according to Group M chief executive Irwin Gotlieb. Formerly known as Maximize, Maxus offered clients an additional choice to Mindshare and MEC under WPP's Group M umbrella, said Mr Gotlieb, who was in Hong Kong recently to open an office in the territory. Launched last month, Maxus has 14 offices worldwide and plans to add 26 by the end of the year, giving it a presence in 33 countries. It has one office in Beijing and another in Shanghai, and is looking at opening one in Guangzhou. China contributes about 2 per cent to Group M's global revenue, but Mr Gotlieb said the mainland business was profitable and growing by more than 25 per cent a year.
