World Cup winner Andreas Moller of Germany heads an impressive lineup of experienced players who will do battle in the Masters Cup tournament at this month's HKFC Philips Lighting International Sevens showpiece.
Moller, who is probably best remembered as the player whose penalty knocked out England from the Euro '96 tournament, will make his Hong Kong debut as one of the star players competing in the annual extravaganza at Sports Road.
Also joining Moller in the tournament are former Bayern Munich star and ex-Germany international Michael Rummenigge and fellow German Uwe Bein who will turn out for the Lorenz All Stars.
Adding further flavour to the tournament will be former Wimbledon and Bolton Wanderers marksman Dean Holdsworth, who will lead the Philips All Stars. Moller has won everything as a player and will definitely be the player to watch in the HKFC-organised tournament to be held on May 29-30.
The 36-year-old midfielder has been capped 85 times for Germany and is a veteran of such top clubs as Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke 04. He has scored 30 goals for Germany and apart from helping his country to victory in the 1990 World Cup final, the German has a European Championship medal and has won European and World Club cups for Dortmund and a UEFA Cup medal with Juventus.
Rummenigge is the younger brother of former Germany captain, Karl-Heinz, and was a regular with the Germany team during the mid-80s. Several Premier League veterans will also be turning out in the tournament, including former Chelsea striker Kerry Dixon, former England international Clive Walker and ex-Nottingham and England forward Tony Woodcock.
