It's not every day you meet a potential world record holder. CitySeen had the luck to meet Maurizio Giuliano over the weekend. His claim to fame is that he has travelled to 192 countries and hopes one day to be recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's most seasoned traveller (Charles Veley holds the title, having visited 350 countries or territories).

The baby-faced Mr Giuliano, 29, was passing through Hong Kong on his way to East Timor and Afghanistan. He entertained CitySeen with stories of his exploits and dispensed nuggets of wisdom and insight.

On Burundi: 'I stayed there one night and you heard gunshots all night and that makes it unpleasant.'

Somalia: 'I had some great conversations.'

North Korea: 'I had a great time seeing things I wasn't supposed to see.'

The earnest and verbose Mr Giuliano, who has British and Italian citizenship, says he has gone through 48 passports.
