CONDOM sales are growing faster in Taiwan than in Hong Kong, according to a major contraceptive firm.
The London International Group, which claims 35 per cent of the world condom market, has reported that 31 per cent of its Hong Kong clients bought condoms rather than other devices offered.
This compared to 54 per cent of its Taiwanese customers who chose condoms over other methods.
The company entered the Taiwanese market only about a year ago, but it has been selling contraceptive devices in Hong Kong for several years.
The group's Hong Kong-based regional manager, Daniel Lam Hak-loong, said only four per cent of its mainland customers chose condoms but this could reflect the market's infancy.
Mr Lam said the biggest growth markets for condoms were teenagers and people in their 20s.
