New frontiers

Sans Frontieres opened recently at 11 Stanley Street, Central (tel: 2526 7222), replacing Japanese spicy ramen shop Beppu Mankan. As its name suggests Sans Frontieres has an international selection of dishes, with names of the cities and countries it represents plastered on the windows of the small, dark restaurant: 'China, Japan, Turkey, Shanghai, France, Macau, Malaysia, Korea, German, Peking, Hong Kong.' The international dishes include Chinese stir-fried minced spring beans with pork ($35), veal sausages with mashed potatoes German style ($36) and Japanese-style baby oysters ($45). Another branch of Sans Frontieres is at 71 Chatham Road South, Tsim Sha Tsui (tel: 2732 2733).
