The award for Grouchiest Actor with a Petulant Retort goes to Tony Leung Chiu-wai. He put in his award-worthy performance after he failed to win the best actor prize at Cannes for his work in Wong Kar-wai's 2046, losing out to 14-year-old Yagira Yuuya, in the Japanese film Nobody Knows. 'What acting skills could a 14-year-old possibly have? Can you tell me?' Leung snapped when reporters asked what he thought about the results. He said he was disappointed at not winning and added that perhaps the standards for Cannes awards were higher than elsewhere. 'Wong Kar-wai spent four years on the movie,' Leung said, according to reports in Chinese-language newspapers. 'I thought we would win the best actor award.'
