Windstruck is a film tailor-made for fans of Korean actress Jun Ji-hyun, who captured the hearts of Hong Kong teenagers following her appearances in My Sassy Girl and Il Mare.
This time, Jun plays the role of a quick-tempered, sassy cop who is as endearing as she is bossy.
One day, she beats up and arrests a secondary school teacher (Jang Hyuk) after mistaking him for as a thief.
As you would have guessed, they fall in love and experience some happy times before fate interferes and they split up.
Written and directed by Kwak Jae-yong, it is not surprising that Windstruck follows the same formula of My Sassy Girl - which he also directed - in blending slapstick, romance and sadness together in a love story.
While you may think Kwak has run out of ideas, there is little doubt that this formula will work again since My Sassy Girl is South Korea's highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time and has also been a massive hit in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
