A second former priest has been in court to fight allegations he sexually abused a boy nearly 30 years ago. Stanislaus Lee Tze-chung, 53, yesterday entered a plea of not guilty to four charges of indecent assault between 1975 and 1977. The first charge dates to October 1975, when his alleged victim was 12. Lee, a former priest, is now a self-employed interpreter. The court did not hear if he was a cleric at the time of the alleged offences. District Court Judge Maggie Poon Man-kay was told the alleged victim would return from Canada to testify from behind a screen. An order has already been passed forbidding the publication of the victim's name. The case was adjourned until June 18. Lee was released on bail. The case follows that of Michael Lau Ka-yee, who last year became the first priest to be convicted of sexually abusing a child under his care in Hong Kong. He was jailed for 41/2 years. Lau, 42, who left the church several years before the court case, was found guilty of two charges of indecent assault, one of gross indecency and another of attempted buggery. He had denied all charges. The offences took place in January 1991 and July 1992 at Lau's quarters at St Joseph's Catholic Church and the Anglo Chinese Primary School in Ngau Tau Kok.
