Concussed HK centre Forsyth to miss China showdown
The vexing question of whether to leave Andrew Wong Kee on the bench or start with him has been solved temporarily due to the unfortunate absence of vice-captain Brett Forsyth for today's international against China at King's Park.
Influential centre Forsyth was concussed late in the match against Singapore a fortnight ago. According to International Rugby Board rules, he has to stand down for a mandatory three-week period and will miss today's game.
This has given Wong Kee the opportunity to start in midfield.
'Wong Kee will replace Brett at inside centre. We didn't want to disrupt the backline too much and made a straightforward change, one player for another,' said head coach Ivan Torpey. 'He [Wong Kee] is a talented player, strong in defence, a good ball-carrier and has good skills including good ball distribution.
'In the absence of Brett, it was an easy choice to bring him into the lineup.'
