Don't go and lie in sun without putting sunscreen on your body, unless you want to know what it feels like to have your skin burnt. Sunscreen lotion will probably be your best friend this summer. It protects you from the sun's harmful rays which can cause sunburn and skin ageing. It's always wise to put on some sunscreen lotion 20 to 30 minutes before you go in the sun. And slap on loads - most people don't put on enough. Boots Soltan extra moisturising sun lotion water resistant SPF 60 ($140/200ml) This big bottle is perfect for a family day out to the beach. The extremely high SPF offers lots of protection, especially for those who don't want to get very tanned. It supplies enough moisture to stop the skin from getting dehydrated. Vaseline Intensive Care sun spray SPF 32 ($67.90/150ml) The spray form makes it easy to use. You can even reach unreachable places like your back. It doesn't feel sticky but it doesn't say it's water resistant. Biotherm Sunfitness screen milk for sensitive skin SPF 40 ($180/150ml) SPF 40 gives strong protection. The gentle texture doesn't cause irritation or stickiness. We tested it on sensitive skin and survived a day under the blazing sun with no burns. Biotherm Sunfitness tender milk SPF 25 ($180/150ml) The snug bottle with a nifty nozzle makes this really handy for the beach. Just wish it wasn't so pricey.
