Shooting to start on Taiwan pop star's movie debut

Filming will begin in a few weeks on Taiwanese singing sensation Jay Chou Jie-lun's first movie, according to a source at Media Asia. Chou will star in Initial D, based on a Japanese comics series about a group of teenage car racers.

This US$10 million movie will be directed by the duo behind the hit Infernal Affairs, Alan Mak Siu-fai and Andrew Lau Wai-keung. Appearing alongside Chou will be Edison Chen Koon-hei, Shawn Yue Man-lok, Jordan Chan Siu-chun and Anthony Wong Chau-sang. Japanese actress Anne Suzuki will play the female lead.
