Before you start to attack your eyebrows, I am going to make sure you know all about getting them shaped professionally to avoid any eyebrow accidents.

What is eyebrow shaping? It might be argued that everyone's natural eyebrow shape should suit them, but unfortunately this isn't always the case. Sometimes natural eyebrows aren't at all complimentary to the face they're on - the brows may be too thick, for example, or be completely the wrong shape.

Fashion, of course, plays a large part too. In the 1960s it was considered fashionable to have a thin eyebrow line. Women often shaved them off completely and drew in a line with an eyebrow pencil.

Today, on the other hand, the look is more natural and defined - unfortunate for those ladies from the 1960s who are finding it difficult to grow their eyebrows back.

We can all benefit by having our eyebrows shaped expertly to avoid over-plucking as it gives us a guideline to follow. These days, therapists pluck or use wax to shape brows, depending on how much hair needs to be removed.
