A Form Three pupil suffering from exam-related stress jumped to his death from a 16th-floor flat in Tai Po yesterday. He left a suicide note saying he had failed to meet his parents' expectations. Chan Ching-nam, a 15-year-old student at Kau Yan College, was last seen studying in the dining room of the flat in Yee Fu Court, Tai Po Plaza, at 2.30am. His mother, 46, got up at 7am and noticed he was missing. The boy's elder brother, 22, a university student, then left the flat to search for him. A passer-by found Ching-nam lying in a flower bed outside the apartment block. He was declared dead by ambulance officers. His suicide note, which was found in the dining room, said he had decided to end his life because of academic problems. A police officer said the boy was in the middle of his exams.
